Day 24 — Soft Pastel Study, Iron Creek
This is another painting of Iron Creek, created during my early journey with soft pastels. By this time I had purchased a book on pastel technique and was experimenting with a softening method to blend edges and atmosphere. I was still learning how the medium responded to pressure, layering, and stroke direction, but each attempt helped me better understand how to shape depth and light. These studies may feel rough compared to later works, yet they mark an important stage in developing control and confidence with soft pastels.
