Day 048: Alpine Loop In Fall

In this early piece I was still figuring out how to give my trees a real sense of depth. The colors were strong, but my technique for layering foliage and carving space between foreground and background wasn’t there yet. Even so, I love how the road pulls the eye inward and how the aspens flare against the darker pines. It’s a reminder of how far my understanding of texture and depth has come.
