This soft pastel piece began with a strong foundation but lost its way as depth became harder to sustain. The foreground needed more time and weight, with a gentler fade into distance to support believability. It was an ambitious attempt, because the very nature of this approach makes spatial depth difficult to convey. Sometimes the struggle shows you exactly what the work still needs.
