This was only my second attempt using soft pastels. I was still learning how to layer and control the texture. The snow could have more depth, and the dirt patch with rocks feels a bit out of place. Even so, I began to see how pastels can capture the light and energy of a landscape in a way that feels alive, even when my technique was still developing.
