Day 019: Winners and the Losers
My daughter and I did this quick study of Morning Glory years ago, long before I learned how to work with soft pastels. It is one of the “losers,” rough, uneven, and uncertain, but honest.
I later painted this again, adding far more green, because the real pool has cooled over the years as visitors threw things into it, blocking the vents that keep it vibrant.
I titled this Winners and the Losers as a reminder that even in art, as in nature, every loss teaches something lasting.
