This was an early attempt to capture mountain form and structure. The slopes lack depth and the foreground feels unfinished, but I was still learning how to use contrast and lighting with purpose. Later, I would revisit this same scene in oil pastels with far better results. Still, I like the sky; the softness hints at the direction my technique would take. Every misstep like this one moved me closer to finding my own voice.
