Day 23 — Early Oil Pastel, Lasting Lesson

When I created this piece, I didn’t like it. It was one of my earlier oil pastel works, back when I was still a novice in that medium. My sister, though, really liked it, and that taught me an important lesson. Not every style or piece will appeal to everyone. Some will connect deeply, others may not. But that doesn’t invalidate what you’ve created. Art is a reflection, not a race for approval.
