This was another attempt at Mount St. Helens, but this time I used soft pastels instead of oil pastels. At this point in my art journey I knew I preferred pastels, but I had not yet settled on oil pastels as my primary medium. You will see throughout the series that I sometimes repeated works because I was not satisfied with the original results. Each attempt was part of learning how to see more clearly and how to build form, atmosphere, and light with greater intention.
