Color is my language and pastels are my pen

This piece came from a photograph I took on vacation in Portugal. I was still early in my pastel journey and experimenting with how far I could push color and texture. The soft light across the hills, the storm moving in, and the single red tree all spoke to me. It was one of those moments where travel and art became the same experience. Creating this helped me see how observation turns into memory and how memory turns into color.
